Solutions-oriented professional with a distinguished 30 year career with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Charlotte, NC.  Progressed steadily through the ranks to become Chief of Police.  In this role, he developed unparalleled relationship with the Citizens Review Board, spearheaded the implementation of the Criminal Justice Accountability Scorecard Initiative, and developed key community engagement programs targeting youth to provide access and opportunity to training, internships, jobs, and low-level crime forgiveness.  He serves as a Police Practices Expert on the Independent Monitoring Team for the US DOJ Consent Decree involving the Virgin Islands Police Department, reviewing Use of Force incidents, training, and investigations.  He obtained his Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte, NC, and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
