More than 25 years of experience as a law enforcement officer, narcotics investigator/supervisor, and campus law enforcement administrator. He retired in 2021 from the University of North Carolina, where he served as Assistant Vice Chancellor of Campus Safety/Chief of Police. Prior to that, he served multiple years as Assistant Vice President of Campus Safety/Chief of Police with the Florida State University Police Department; Deputy Chief of Police for Clemson University; and Chief of Police/Director of Public Safety at Albany State University in Albany, Georgia. Presently, he is a Senior Research Associate/Program Manager in the Law Enforcement Safety and Wellness Group for the Institute for Intergovernmental Research. He also serves as the Program Manager for Safer Together, a newly established DOJ/BJA national strategy. He earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Albany State University. His professional affiliations include IACLEA (past president), Florida Police Chiefs Association (past president), and NOBLE/North Florida Chapter (past president).
